To coincide with the start of Mental Health Awareness week (11 – 17 May 2015) The Chilterns is launching its own Cookery School, which will be tailored to the needs of the people we support: starting with making snacks, for those who require a high level of support, to budgeting, planning, shopping and cooking with no support for more able individuals.
The programme will include lesson plans and step-by-step processes, designed and written by our Support Worker Tammy Stephens. It has been designed to complement The Chilterns’ Healthy Eating group, which works in partnership with local NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups to promote healthy choices and lifestyles.
The Chilterns is Optima Care’s provider of step down services for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, including mental health issues.
